DPM distinguishes between different demand types (e.g. firm demand, named likely demand and unnamed demand, including predictable and sales campaign driven demand) and is able to predict demand based on machine learning algorithms and user experience.
Based on connections to HR and other relevant sources DPM knows which capacity is available per skill (Consulting Level, Languages, Engineering or Programming skills etc) and offers forecasts e.g. driven by hiring campaigns or attrition.
Capacity can be assigned to demand on a regional | role/skill and even project level. Sales campaigns, triggered out of the SPF module, can trigger hiring campaigns focussing on special skills or regions. Forced and unforced attrition can be planned to adress bottlenecks or overcapacity.
smart PM solutions' DPM application allows you to operate a Delivery Business Unit in full control, connected to all other departments, especially Sales and HR. Based on expected demand data from Sales Operations modules, DPM will calculate expected gaps between demand and capacity, allowing for an automatic or semi-autmated capacity allocation as well as capacity adjustments, e.g. by hiring campaigns or attrition forecasts.
